Riders at Foxcroft Equestrian Centre weathered rain showers, wind and a little sunshine throughout a day of equestrian competition.
The day began with a short course event in which riders tested their riding finesse and their mounts’ obedience riding a dressage test followed by a faster and more exciting jumping course.
With its compulsory figures and emphasis on a flowing, seamless ride, dressage requires a high level of training and attention to detail. Following dressage, riders headed out to the jumping course
where they rode a twisting course of stadium jumps with colourful rails, then galloped on to a cross-country course of solid, natural obstacles. The jumping course was well handled, and despite a
few challenges, all riders completed the course.
